Many people have been having a difficult time dealing with the changes we’ve experienced in our world over the past year.
If you’re like me, you have probably been feeling a loss of control. There are so many things that have happened in our world that we individually have no control over: CV, quarantine, fires, snow storms, hurricanes, loss of jobs, elections, recession, social tensions.
To say it’s been a difficult year is an understatement for most people.
And the question it brings up for me is: How does the Law of Attraction come into play?
Did the Law of Attraction create these difficult times?
Here’s the thing: We are all creating our lives because we attract people, things and experiences to us that are in alignment with our energetic vibration. That is the definition of the Law of Attraction.
But what about the bigger picture? Did we create Corona? Did we create the political tension and division we’re seeing on this planet? Did we create the horrendous fires in Australia and California?
Collectively the answer is, “Yes.” Our collective consciousness on the planet is creating these experiences.
But the bigger picture is that it is part of our evolution to a higher dimension as a planet.
So it doesn’t mean that we did anything wrong. Or that we are being punished. Or that this is happening because we need to “wake up and raise our consciousness.”
It is happening for quite the opposite reason. It is happening because humanity is waking up and has evolved to the point where our planet is shifting into the next dimension.
This is a time of rebirth. The birthing process however, can be painful. That is what we are experiencing. That is the pain that we are seeing and experiencing on the planet right now.
Remember this when you’re in a place of hardship or suffering. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. This is our planet birthing a new dimension.
And while we don’t have control over many of the things that are happening on the planet right now, we do have control over our individual lives and the choices we make. We have control over how we think, feel and act. We have control over our own lives.
We can’t control world events; we can control the events in our lives.
And that’s just what we need to do.
What we focus on expands.
Instead of focusing on things we can’t control, like politics or the economy or division on our planet, we need to focus on things we can control – our own lives and what we want to create and experience in our lives.
And not spend our time and energy focusing on, or worrying about, the things over which we have no control. The more energy we put on those things, the more it takes away from the energy we have to create what we want in our individual lives.
And the more energy we give those negative things, the more they continue to manifest in our world.
When you focus on things you can’t control, it drains your energy, and by focusing on the negative, it lowers your vibration and attracts more of the same into your life.
Instead, stop putting your time and energy on the negative things you can’t control. And instead focus your time and energy on your life and the things you can control.
But I want to help others who are suffering
You may be thinking that that’s selfish when there is so much suffering on the planet right now. But the truth is that the more we heal individually, the more we will heal as a planet. And your staying stuck in fear or pain or worry is not going to lift anyone else out of their fear, pain or worry.
If you want to help the planet, if you want to help other people who are struggling right now, the best thing you can do is to help yourself and raise yourself up, out of the pain and suffering, to a place of joy and love and empowerment. It’s only from that place that we can help anyone else.
How do I not let what’s going on in the world affect me?
What are the things that have been draining your energy and putting you in a negative state of mind?
For me, I know social media is a big one. Social media platforms were intentionally designed to keep us there – on the site. And now with quarantines and physical restrictions, it is the primary source of social interaction and connection for many people.
Take time away from social media. If it’s become a social substitute, find other ways to keep in touch with people and connect. Call, Skype, FaceTime, Zoom. Find ways to connect with like-minded people who don’t take you down the negative rabbit hole of social media.
Stop watching the news as well, or at least limit it. Even before this last year, news was filled with negativity.
Years ago, I remember Dr. Terry Cole-Whittaker saying to stop watching the news because it was negative and fear-based, and that the worst thing we could do was to watch it right before going to bed because it programmed our minds with negative thoughts and feelings.
So be discretionary about what you watch and how often.
Catch yourself, and stop when you get distracted, and realize you’re being pulled into negativity. This could include certain friends or family as well.
Be very conscious and intentional about what and whom you allow into your consciousness.
Ask yourself if you’re willing to not be blocked or limited by what’s going on in the world right now. Let go of any belief that the state of the world means that things can’t be good in your life.
You don’t have to ignore it or pretend these things aren’t going on in the world, and you don’t have to try to be “high vibe” through it all. But you can let go of the thought that things in your life can’t be good because of the state of the world right now.
Focus on the things that you want to create in your life. Focus on the things over which you have control.
Where in your life are you unhappy? What in your life do you want to change? What in your life would you like to experience more of?
Put your time and energy on attracting what you want in your life.
Focus on your own life and not what’s going on in the world. 💙
